** Cabs: 10% (though Italians rarely tip them)
** Bathrooms: often there is an attendant whom you must pay to pee
* DVDs have a different code in Europe and may not play on your home player
* Sandals:
** handy when going to the beach, as well as for wandering in and around the hotel
** bring a cheap pair and you can always leave them behind in order to pack your purchases
